I propose to take Questions Nos. 1079 and 1102 together.
I am very conscious of the need to for improved accommodation for the Doolin Coastal Unit. However, site acquisition negotiations for a new Station house have proved to be protracted and difficult. Recent negotiations to acquire a site, which have been under way for some considerable time, have not reached a satisfactory conclusion.
I have accordingly asked Coast Guard management to consider, as a matter of urgency, alternative locations to permanently house the Doolin Unit in the locality. In the meantime, additional temporary accommodation has been provided for the Unit members.
