As I indicated in my reply to your Parliamentary Question of 21 June 2006, while there may be some merit in acquiring the property to strengthen the integrity of the Castletown Demesne, its acquisition is not considered essential. No negotiations are currently taking place for the purchase of the property by the State. The matter will be kept under review as part of the ongoing management and development of the Castletown House Estate by the Office of Public Works.
