Question 374: To ask the Tánaiste and Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if figures released by the Central Statistics Office in July 2006 via the Census 2006 Preliminary Report will be used by his Department for any reason; if so, what the figures will be used for; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I can inform the Deputy that, until such time as the definitive Census 2006 figures are available, my Department will only use the limited data released in the Census 2006 Preliminary Report as background information for the purposes of general briefing, policy review and planning in a number of areas.
