An application for a certificate of naturalisation from the person referred to in the Deputy's question was received in the Citizenship section of my Department on 7 July 2006. Applications received in the second half of 2004 are currently being processed and there are approximately 10,000 applications awaiting processing before that of the person in question. It is likely that processing of the application of the person in question will commence in the second half of 2008. I will inform the Deputy and the person concerned when I have reached a decision on the application.
