Budgetary allocations were made through my Department's Revised Estimates for 2006 for the following public bodies:

Council for Forest Research and Development (COFORD) To support research and development administered by COFORD 3,800
Irish Horse Board Development and promotion of the Non-Thorough Bred horse industry, operation of the Irish Horse Register and administration 836

Allocations were also made for the following:

There was also a total allocation of €20 million provided for Research and Development grants for third level institutions and Teagasc under the Food Institutional Research Measure (FIRM) (NDP 2000/06) (€14 million) and the Research Stimulus Fund (€6 million).

Question 507: To ask the Minister for Agriculture and Food the number of positions in State bodies under the aegis of her Department which are affected by the increase in non-executive chairpersons' fees of State bodies recently sanctioned by the Government. [27804/06]
