Question 205: To ask the Tánaiste and Minister for Health and Children if her attention has been drawn to the fact that the State's only obesity clinic at St Colmcille's Hospital in Loughlinstown is no longer taking referrals due to the length of waiting time to see a specialist; the waiting times that currently exist; the steps she intends to take to rectify this situation particularly in view of the growing numbers of people who are obese; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The Deputy's question relates to the management and delivery of health and personal social services, which are the responsibility of the Health Service Executive under the Health Act 2004. Accordingly, my Department has requested the Parliamentary Affairs Division of the Executive to arrange to have this matter investigated and to have a reply issued directly to the Deputy.
