Representatives of my Department, the Department of Agriculture and Food and Teagasc met with EU Commission officials on 30 May 2006 to discuss the proposals for amending Regulations and significant progress was made at this meeting. Further information was subsequently forwarded to the Commission and while consultations are ongoing I am hopeful that these can be brought to a successful conclusion shortly.
