The determination of waste management infrastructure requirements is a matter for local authorities in the context of the preparation of the statutory waste management plans provided for in the Waste Management Acts. My Department operates a capital grants scheme in support of certain recycling infrastructure. It is a matter for the local authorities concerned to seek such funding in respect of particular facilities in response to the periodic call for such proposals.
