The exact information requested by the deputy is not available. The Farm Structure Survey provides regional estimates and the following table shows figures for the combined Mid-East & Dublin regions on 1 June 1995, 1997, 2000 and 2003 (the latest year currently available).

Number of farms in the combined Mid-East & Dublin regions — June 1995, 1997, 2000 and 2003
Year Farms
1995 11,700
1997 11,100
2000* 10,500
2003 10,100
* June 2000 Census of Agriculture figure.

The combined Mid-East & Dublin regions comprise counties Kildare, Meath and Wicklow and Dublin County Borough, Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown, Fingal and South Dublin. Figures at county level are available from the 2000 Census of Agriculture. There were 4,500 farms in County Meath on 1 June 2000.
