Question 51: To ask the Minister for Finance if his Department has conducted an assessment on the potential effects of a stock market slump on the economy here in view of recent turbulence in the markets; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [24964/06]

My Department is projecting GDP growth of 4.8 per cent this year with broadly similar growth rates in the following two years. Recent stock market changes have not altered this view to any significant degree.
