Question 520: To ask the Minister for Education and Science the position regarding the building of a new primary school (details supplied) in County Mayo; if all the site issues have been resolved; if an application for planning permission has been lodged or when it is envisaged that a planning application will be lodged; when this project will progress to tender and construction stages; and if she will make a statement on the matter. A site has been identified for the school in question and while there are a small number of issues outstanding, these are currently being addressed and are expected to be resolved shortly. Meanwhile, in order to expedite the design process, my Department is replicating an existing design, which has been successfully completed in another location. This should allow for the project to proceed to construction as soon as possible.
