Question 94: To ask the Minister for Agriculture and Food the number of young farmers who have applied for an installation grant in each of the past five years; if she is satisfied that every encouragement possible under EU rules is being given to such farmers; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The number of applicants in respect of the current Installation Aid Scheme for the past five years is set out in the table below.

Applications 754 934 833 826 795 4,142

Every encouragement is being given to young farmers to participate in the Scheme.
