Question 125: To ask the Tánaiste and Minister for Health and Children if her attention has been drawn to the fact that there is a waiting list of 11 months for heroin addicts to enter a methadone treatment programme in the Health Service Executive treatment centre (details supplied) in County Laois; if her attention has further been drawn to the risk that this poses to heroin addicts; if she will ensure extra medical personnel are provided to this service; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The Deputy's question relates to the management and delivery of health and personal social services, which are the responsibility of the Health Service Executive under the Health Act 2004. Accordingly, my Department has requested the Parliamentary Affairs Division of the Executive to arrange to have this matter investigated and to have a reply issued directly to the Deputy.
