Question 524: To ask the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government the breakdown, in each county and the cost to the Exchequer of paying to end the dual mandate, including details of all costs on a category basis such as gratuity, additional gratuity, representational costs, salary costs, allowances and other expenses paid out; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The costs referred to in the Question are financed by the local authority from their revenue accounts and do not bear directly on the Exchequer. My Department does not have the detailed information requested in the Question, which may appropriately be sought from the individual local authorities concerned.
