Question 287: To ask the Minister for Transport when officials from the accounts branch of the Department of Communications, Marine and Natural Resources in Castlebar will be transferred to the Road Safety Authority in Ballina; the reason for the delay; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Following the recent Government decision to transfer responsibility for the Maritime Transport, Maritime Safety Directorate and the Irish Coast Guard to the Department of Transport, four staff of the accounts branch of the Department of Communications, Marine and Natural Resources in Castlebar are due to transfer to my Department and subsequently to the Road Safety Authority, once established. Three Staff are due to transfer on 3rd July 2006 and the remaining staff member will transfer once that person's current work in relation to payroll functions for Maritime Transport staff has been re-assigned to the Department.
