Question 270: To ask the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment further to Parliamentary Question No. 397 of 30 May 2006, if his Department will cover the cost of hiring interpreters for migrant workers pursuing a claim against their employer through the Labour Relations Commission, the Labour Court or the Employment Appeals Tribunal. The Labour Relations Commission, the Labour Court and the Employment Appeals Tribunal are independent statutory bodies which act independently in carrying out their functions. The procedures to be followed including the hiring of interpreters in individual cases is a matter for these bodies.
