Question 28: To ask the Tánaiste and Minister for Health and Children when as outlined in Parliamentary Question No. 259 of 21 February 2006, the Health Service Executive, National Ambulance Office will be reviewing the transportation needs of all patients; if this new promised policy will result in patients paying for transport costs in relation to their cancer care or chronic illness care; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The Deputy's question relates to the management and delivery of health and personal, social services, which are the responsibility of the Health Service Executive under the Health Act 2004. Accordingly, my Department has requested the Parliamentary Affairs Division of the Executive to respond directly to the Deputy in relation to the matter raised.
