Question 199: To ask the Tánaiste and Minister for Health and Children the position in relation to patients who have been brought to hospital after an accident and who later want to get their records, x-rays and so on to seek another opinion from a different doctor; if the patient needs the files as a matter of urgency, the steps the patient can take to secure their files; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The Deputy's question relates to the management and delivery of health and personal social services, which are the responsibility of the Health Service Executive under the Health Act 2004. Accordingly, my Department has requested the Parliamentary Affairs Division of the Executive to have a reply issued directly to the Deputy.
