Question 521: To ask the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government if a company (details supplied) represented themselves lawfully under the Companies Acts on the date on which a tender was received by his Department for the provision of services; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Details of this company's status under the Companies Acts were not considered by my Department to be material to the assessment of tender proposals for the services being procured. In any case, the company was registered with effect from 11 December 2002, prior to the completion of tender assessments by my Department and to the finalisation of the formal contract on 26 February 2003.

Monitoring and enforcement of compliance with the Companies Acts are a matter for the Office of the Director of Corporate Law Enforcement.
