Question 488: To ask the Minister for Education and Science if she intends to provide extra funding for a school (details supplied) in County Carlow as they have 87 new children for September 2006 and already 57 applications for 2007/2008; if her attention has been drawn to the plans that are in place for large-scale housing developments in the area which will, in turn, dramatically increase pupil attendance at this school; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The School Planning Section of my Department is in receipt of an application for additional accommodation from the management authority of the school to which the Deputy refers. The application is currently being assessed and a decision will issue to the school authority as soon as possible.
