In April, 2003, following careful consideration of material that had been submitted concerning a complaint, my Department issued a letter to the Board of Management of the school referred to by the Deputy.

Subsequently, teachers at the school wrote to my Department in relation to the content of this letter. My Department assured the teachers as recently as April, 2006 that the content of the correspondence referred to did not refer to individual teacher conduct, but rather to the general implementation of school procedures.

My Department's correspondence of April, 2003 was specifically directed to the Board of Management of the school as opposed to any individual or group of individuals within the school. It is my Department's intention to continue engaging directly with the Board of Management on this matter.
