I have been informed by the Garda authorities that a senior Detective Superintendent, from an outside Division, was appointed to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death of the person in question. I am assured that the Garda investigation carried out in this tragic situation was thorough. The matter is currently before the Coroner for South County Dublin who will hold an inquest into the death. I have no plans to take any further action at this time.
