The School Planning Section of my Department has received an application for major capital funding from the management of the school to which the Deputy refers. This application is being assessed in accordance with the published prioritisation criteria for large-scale projects.

A decision on the proposed works is being considered in the context of the School Building and Modernisation Programme.

The determination of the long-term projected staffing of the school to which the Deputy refers is currently under way in the School Planning Section of my Department. Once this process is complete the project will be considered for progress in the context of the School Building and Modernisation Programme from 2006 onwards. In the meantime, approval has been given to the school for the rental of temporary accommodation to meet its immediate accommodation needs.
