Question 380: To ask the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the vetting procedures which are in place to ensure the suitability in terms of physical and mental health in order to obtain a public service vehicle licence for the transport of high capacity passenger vehicles; the criteria which are applied; his views on whether they are adequate; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I am informed by the Garda authorities that there is no requirement to hold a public service vehicle driver's licence to drive high capacity passenger vehicles.
I am further informed that the only requirement is to hold the appropriate driving licence to drive such vehicles.
