Question 94: To ask the Minister for Education and Science the date of receipt in her Department in respect of the Harris Report on competence in spoken Irish in primary schools; the date the report was transferred for translation into Irish; if the report is being translated inhouse by her Department; if so, the number of persons working on the translating; if not, if an agency has been contracted to do so; if a contract price has been agreed for the overall work; the cost to date of translating the report; and when this work will be completed. The finalised text of the Harris Report — Irish in Primary Schools: Long-term National trends in Achievement — was received in the Department on 9 February, 2006. It was transferred to an outside agency for translation on 28 February, 2006. The draft translation was received by the Department on 26 April, 2006. A contract price has been agreed but no payment has been made for the translation work to date.
