Question 390: To ask the Minister for Agriculture and Food the plans and programmes of her Department and related State agencies which have been identified as requiring strategy environmental assessments under the European Communities (Environmental Assessment of Certain Plans and Programmes) Regulations 2004; and the number of such assessments which have been carried out or are in progress to date. The Rural Development Programme for 2007-2013 which involves a number of schemes including forestry schemes and REPS, will require a strategic environmental assessment (SEA). That programme has yet to be finalised. The SEA will be carried out in conjunction with an independent ex-ante evaluation of the programme that is expected to commence in July.
