Question 159: To ask the Tánaiste and Minister for Health and Children, further to a previous parliamentary question, the reason for the delay in arranging an appointment for a person (details supplied) in County Carlow at Waterford Regional Hospital in view of the fact that they were referred to a pain specialist by their surgeon on 14 November 2005; if the new information and request for an early appointment submitted would be considered; if a response from the Health Service Executive will be expedited regarding this urgent matter; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The Deputy's question relates to the management and delivery of health and personal social services, which are the responsibility of the Health Service Executive under the Health Act 2004. Accordingly, my Department has requested the parliamentary affairs division of the executive to arrange to have this matter investigated and to have a reply issued directly to the Deputy.
