Question 771: To ask the Minister for Education and Science if she will sanction funding to enable ACORN applied behavioural analysis school for autistic children to set up a unit on Dublin's north side for 12 autistic children, in view of the long waiting lists for existing schools providing this type of education for autistic children and the great benefit of early intervention and one-to-one tuition for these children. The Department of Education and Science is considering a report from the National Council for Special Education regarding the application in question. The Department's officials will notify all relevant parties when a decision on the application has been made.
