Question 256: To ask the Tánaiste and Minister for Health and Children if she or a person in her Department issued a directive to hospitals directing that, if necessary, elective surgery be cancelled to enable people in accident and emergency departments for more than three days to take up beds; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
