Question 166: To ask the Minister for Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs if he has received an application from a group (details supplied) in Dublin 7 for grant assistance from the emerging needs funds; when a decision will be made on this application; and if his attention has been drawn to the essential rehabilitation services that this project is providing on grossly inadequate resources. I am aware of the services being provided by this project and I would like to point out that it is in receipt of substantial core funding of approximately €80,000 per annum as part of the north inner city local drugs task force development plan. In addition, FÁS provides funding through its special category CE scheme for the trainees and supervisor of the project.

An application for additional assistance from the emerging needs fund has been made on behalf of the project. That application is currently being considered, as are a large number of other applications seeking assistance from the fund. A decision on funding will be made shortly.
