Question 52: To ask the Minister for Arts, Sport and Tourism the information available to his Department in regard to the number of management or senior staff in Bord na gCon who have had their positions terminated in the course of the past five years and in respect of whom financial settlements were made; the amount paid in respect of such settlements; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Bord na gCon was established as a statutory body under the Greyhound Industry Act 1958. Under the provisions of that Act, responsibility for the day-to-day administration of the organisation, including staffing issues, lies with Bord na gCon and my Department has no role in such matters. Accordingly, the information sought by the Deputy is not available to the Department and he should, therefore, address his request directly to Bord na gCon.
