Question 88: To ask the Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources if he will report on the number of post offices which have been closed in the past year here; the implications of this for local communities and especially for senior citizens and people with disabilities; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I refer the Deputy to the following table which outlines the post offices closed or converted in the past year. The matter of post office closures is in the first instance an operational matter for the board and management of An Post and one in which I have no statutory function.
