Question 579: To ask the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the number of taxi drivers who had their licence application or renewal refused by the Garda Síochána in each of the past five years on the grounds that the Garda Síochána considered them unfit to be taxi drivers; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I am informed by the Garda authorities that the information requested by the Deputy is not readily available and is being researched. I will be in touch with the Deputy when the information comes to hand.
