Question 633: To ask the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government his plans to maintain the national routes and motorway free of litter; if he has raised this matter with the National Roads Authority; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [5407/06]

Under section 7 of the Litter Pollution Act 1997, it is a matter for each local authority to ensure that public roads — including national primary roads and motorways — in its functional area are, so far as practicable, kept free of litter.
