Question 379: To ask the Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources if he has satisfied himself that all persons working in his Department or in State or semi-State bodies under the auspices of his Department are being paid at least the minimum wage for the hours worked; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I am satisfied that my staff in the Department are being paid at least the minimum wage for the hours worked. The rates of pay for employees of State and semi-State bodies under the auspices of the Department are day-to-day operational matters for the bodies concerned and are not matters in which I have a function. The Deputy's questions about such matters should be directed at the bodies concerned.
