Question 465: To ask the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the number of cases where proceedings commenced in respect of a drink driving offence in each of the years 1999-2005, inclusive, with a breakdown for each of the years between cases based on blood, urine and breath samples; the typical reason for the delay in taking cases; the number of cases during this period where proceedings did not and will not ever be commenced; the typical reason for same; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I regret that the information requested by the Deputy is not readily available in the format sought by the Deputy and is currently being researched. I will be in contact with the Deputy in relation to this matter in due course.
