Question 345: To ask the Tánaiste and Minister for Health and Children the reason the home help hours have been cut for persons (details supplied) in County Kilkenny with an indication that the hours will be discontinued from 27 January 2006; if she will ensure that the hours are continued and maintained at the same levels as they are now; her views regarding the extent of the cuts in home help hours in County Kilkenny; if she will request a report on the matter and examine the negative impact it is having on the persons concerned; if lack of funding is the cause of the cuts being imposed; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The Deputy's question relates to the management and delivery of health and personal social services, which are the responsibility of the Health Service Executive under the Health Act 2004. Accordingly, my Department has requested the parliamentary affairs division of the executive to arrange to have this matter investigated and to reply directly to the Deputy.
