Question 185: To ask the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the measures which are in place to ensure that information relating to convicted sex offenders is made available to the relevant members of the Garda Síochána at operational level to ensure the protection of the public; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I am informed by the Garda authorities that a garda inspector has been appointed in each Garda division throughout the State with responsibility for liaising with the domestic violence and sexual assault investigation unit at the National Bureau of Criminal Investigation, Harcourt Square, Dublin 2, concerning the supervision of sex offenders.
