Question 522: To ask the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government if his attention has been drawn to the initiative of a group (details supplied) in Dublin 24 which is promoting the idea that organised bonfires by local authorities would counter the menace of illegal bonfires; and if he will make a statement on the matter. My Department has not been made aware of this group's initiative. It would appear appropriate for the group to take the matter up with the local authority for its area.
