Question 122: To ask the Minister for Finance if the additional voluntary contribution scheme arrangements will be extended to allow persons who have no pension scheme to retrospectively make payments into a pension fund on which tax relief would be given in order that they might be able to make some provision for their retirement. I would refer the Deputy to the long-standing practice of Ministers for Finance not to comment on what may or may not be contained in upcoming budgets. I do not intend to depart from that approach.
