Question 361: To ask the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the reason, after several attempts at trying to contact the immigration section of his Department, a person (details supplied) in County Offaly still received no confirmation of their application which they lodged with his Department in September 2005. The person referred to by the Deputy submitted an application for long-term residency in September 2005. On receipt of the documentation submitted it was noted that he would not meet the qualifying criteria until the middle of November 2005. His application was subsequently held by the Department until such time as he did qualify for long-term residency.

The immigration division of my Department has recently been in contact with the person concerned notifying him of the decision to grant long-term residency.
