Question 299: To ask the Minister for Transport if Weston aerodrome will become classed as Dublin's second airport; if this airfield will operate domestic and international passenger services such as those operated in Dublin Airport; the role he sees Weston aerodrome having in the development of the Irish transport infrastructure; and if he will make a statement on the matter. As the Deputy is aware Weston aerodrome is a privately owned aerodrome. The State has no involvement in the ownership, operation or management of the aerodrome. The development of Weston and its future role in Irish transport infrastructure is a matter for its owners, in accordance of course with all relevant planning, safety and regulatory requirements.
