Question 80: To ask the Minister for Transport if he has been informed by Iarnród Éireann as to the chosen location for a new rail station in the docklands; the cost of such a station; the way in which the cost of such a station will be financed; if this project has been offered out to tender to date in 2005; when it will begin construction and when it will be completed; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I understand from Iarnród Éireann that having examined a number of options, the board will decide shortly the preferred location for the construction of a new docklands railway station. I expect to receive proposals from the company, including construction cost, soon after board consideration.
Transport 21 provides that the Exchequer will fund construction of the new station. Subject to compliance with the statutory approval process, construction is expected to start in 2006 and be completed in 2009.
