The planning, design and implementation of national road improvement projects, including the Dublin Port tunnel, is a matter for the National Roads Authority, NRA, and the relevant local authorities. I understand from the NRA that the primary construction work on the tunnel is expected to be completed in December 2005 and that the tunnel will be open to traffic by mid-2006, following the testing and commissioning of its operational and safety features.
I am not aware of any statement by the Minister for Finance in regard to the completion of the Dublin Port tunnel.
