Question 115: To ask the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the reason a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath was precluded from attending at Garda headquarters in the Phoenix Park to carry out the task assigned to them by their employer; the factors and reasons which were taken into account which classify them as not being permitted to enter into Garda headquarters; and if he will make a statement on the matter. It is standard practice for the Office of Public Works to seek the views of the Garda Síochána as to suitability in respect of employees of contractors working on certain sensitive State properties. It would be contrary to the public interest to disclose the grounds either generally or in any particular case upon which opposition to prospective employment is expressed.
