I propose to take Questions Nos. 680 and 683 together.

Section 180 of the Planning and Development Act 2000 requires local authorities to take in charge the public services of housing estates once these are completed to a satisfactory standard, and-or where they are requested to do so by the developer or by a majority of the residents of a housing development. It has not been the practice for my Department to collect information on the operation of these provisions in local authorities and does not propose to compile such information in relation to a matter delegated to local authority competence.
