Question 91: To ask the Minister for Foreign Affairs the number of staff that have been recruited to his Department in each of the past five years; the number of staff taken into his Department by way of transfer; and the projected number of staff proposed to be recruited during the next five years. The following table sets out the information requested by the Deputy. It should be noted that a significant number of staff will also have left the Department during this period, on transfer to other Departments or offices. Others will have retired or resigned, or availed of the option to take career breaks or special leave. I am afraid that I am unable to estimate the number of staff that will be recruited by the Department over the next five years.
