Question 143: To ask the Minister for Finance if, in regard to views expressed, it was unacceptable that some of the wealthiest residents in Irish society should use property and other tax incentives to avoid paying any income tax while at the same time enjoying the services provided by the State, the steps he intends to deal with this situation; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I refer the Deputy to the long-standing practice of Ministers for Finance not to comment on what may or may not be contained in upcoming budgets. Any steps of the sort mentioned by the Deputy will be a matter for consideration in the context of the budget and Finance Bill.
