Question 388: To ask the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government the number of Government awarded contracts from 1995 until 2004 inclusive that over-ran financially as a result of jobs being incorrectly specified; if the people responsible for the incorrect specifications were held to account; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government has more than 3,700 suppliers of goods and services. Accordingly, it would involve a disproportionate amount of time and work to examine the files relating to all contracts awarded in the period specified to determine the information sought in the question.
