Question 312: To ask the Minister for Transport the number of people employed by the driver testing and standards authority; the salary costs to date in 2005, the grades of staff and the functions being carried out at each grade level; the implications for personnel in view of his decision to widen the functions of the authority; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The driver testing standards agency, DTSA, has not been established. The establishment of the DTSA which is being expanded and will be known as the road safety authority is being overseen by a project group considering the organisational structure in consultation with the Department of Finance and staff associations. There are, therefore, no salary costs associated with the agency for 2005.
